Stop the 'R' Word

The “Stop the ‘R’ Word” campaign is very important to me.

The "R" word hurts people with diverse abilities and their friends. The word that I’m talking about is the word retard.

Please stop using it.

When I was a little girl I was called the "R" word a lot. Now that I’m older I don’t get called that word as much anymore but I do still hear it a lot, when people are talking about something they think is stupid.

When I hear the "R" word it makes me feel upset, mad, and very hurt. It also makes me feel like I can’t do anything, when I know I can. I’m actually able to do a lot of things, like:

- travel

- have 2 jobs

- live in my own place.

Please watch this video that I have included with my blog article. In the future I would like to see the "R" word gone and people not using it.
